Coco Space
Description
Coco Space is the coworking space on Siargao that everyone recommends, and for once the hype is mostly justified. It sits in Libertad Hills – a quiet area between General Luna and Santa Fe, about 10 minutes by motorbike from Cloud 9 – surrounded by rice fields and palm trees. You will need a scooter to get here. There is no walking from town.
The internet is the headline: multiple Starlink dishes plus a backup local ISP connection, measured at 172 Mbps, running on full solar power with generator backup. When the rest of the island goes dark (and it will), Coco Space stays online. For remote workers whose income depends on not dropping video calls, this alone justifies the membership fee.
The main coworking room has about 25 air-conditioned desks with ergonomic chairs, and there’s a strict no-talking policy in there – a rare courtesy on an island where most “coworking” means a cafe table next to someone’s speakerphone. Four private focus booths and bookable call rooms handle your video meetings. There’s also outdoor seating if you prefer to work with a rice field view and accept the humidity trade-off.
Day passes run PHP 500. Monthly memberships are PHP 7,000 (about $120 USD), which includes unlimited specialty coffee from the on-site Coco Cafe, pool access, focus booth credits, and community event access. Flexi passes available if you don’t need daily access – 5-day pass for PHP 2,000 or 10-day for PHP 4,000. Private offices accommodate up to 6 people at PHP 5,000/day.
The cafe does smoothie bowls, rice bowls, and sourdough toast made fresh daily, plus proper flat whites. There’s a swimming pool overlooking the hills and a rooftop deck where they hold yoga and Pilates sessions. Community programming runs regularly – nomad dinners, masterminds, workshops, free lunch events.
Founded by Itay Haritan, an Israeli entrepreneur who landed in Siargao in 2022 and built what he couldn’t find. The space operates as the work half of an ecosystem with Communal Coliving (the live half, 7 minutes away in Santa Fe). They also run the Siargao Digital Nomads community. With 200+ five-star Google reviews and a 4.9 rating, the track record speaks for itself. One well-known nomad blogger who spent two months here wrote: “No other space really comes close at the moment.”
