Three Little Birds
Description
Three Little Birds runs on community energy – family dinners, pre-dawn surf sessions, poker nights, free banana bread. Owner Paco has a genuine story behind the place, and the staff (Cy, Raf, Francis, Giddy) are the reason people who book three nights end up staying three weeks.
It’s a social hostel, not a quiet one. Music plays all day, people congregate in the open common area, and the whole setup pushes you toward other guests. If you want to decompress alone, this isn’t your spot. If you want surf mates by tomorrow morning, it absolutely is.
The place sits close to Cloud 9 on a quiet street – good location, a little awkward to find the first time (ask a local, they’ll know it). Facilities are functional rather than impressive: clean bathrooms, but the ratio of showers to guests gets stretched when it’s full. Book the AC room if you can.
Highlights
- Staff and owners are hands-on, welcoming, and give solid local recommendations
- Location works: quiet street, close to Cloud 9 and good cafes
- Free banana bread daily (small thing, appreciated every time)
- Bathroom-to-guest ratio is tight when the hostel is full
- Hard to find without directions; no obvious signage from the main road
