Tropico Inn Siargao
Description
A budget guesthouse in the middle of General Luna, steps from GL port and walking distance to most restaurants and bars. Rooms are small – genuinely small – but the place runs clean and smells good, which matters more than it sounds after you’ve seen what the budget end of Siargao can look like.
The owner and staff are the real selling point here. Multiple guests had problems solved quickly – room changes, forgotten items retrieved, transport booked, generator flipped on during blackouts. Responsive hosts are rarer than they should be on this island.
There’s a spa downstairs doing massages, gel manicures, and foot spa. Prices run higher than the street-side competition (₱700 for a massage versus the usual ₱300-500 elsewhere), so factor that in. The rooms look better in photos than in person – go in with adjusted expectations and you’ll probably be fine.
Highlights
- Staff respond fast and actually solve problems (room changes, lost items, transport bookings)
- Rooms are clean and smell good
- Price is genuinely reasonable for what you get
- AC quality is inconsistent across rooms - some work well, others let the heat back in
- Wi-Fi doesn't reliably reach the rooms
