YAMA Apartments
Description
Yama sits right on the beach in General Luna – actual beachfront, not ‘steps from the beach’ beachfront – with rooms that look directly out over the water. Studios are spacious with working AC, hot showers, and daily housekeeping, and breakfast is included and apparently worth waking up for. Cloud 9 is a 10-minute walk, and the main strip is close enough to be convenient without being loud enough to be annoying.
The on-site bar (Barrel) runs pool tables, darts, and margaritas that multiple people felt strongly enough about to mention in their reviews. It does mean this isn’t a quiet private villa situation anymore – there’s a social scene here whether you want one or not.
Trisha (also spelled Tricia depending on who you ask) is the staff member who keeps coming up in reviews, and not in a vague ‘great service’ way – she’s booking scooters, arranging island hopping, coordinating in-room massages. The whole team seems to operate like that.
Highlights
- Rooms are large, clean, and properly maintained with daily housekeeping and hot water
- Staff - especially Trisha - actively help arrange logistics like scooter rentals, massages, and day trips
- Most affordable beachfront option in General Luna for what you get
- Dogs roam the property, which is fine for some and not for others
